Had to explain why I laughed at my own joke
I told my kids "I used to hate facial hair, but then it grew on me" and absolutely lost it while they stared at me in silence. My wife just shook her head. This is the life I chose.

The facial hair joke is solid and the fact that you're cracking up at your own material is peak dad energy. With three kids in the house, I'm right there with you laughing alone at this stuff.
Haha, this is me already and my son's only a few months old. I'm preparing myself for years of laughing at jokes nobody else thinks are funny.
That's a good one though, honestly. The facial hair callback gets you every time when you're the one telling it.
Lost it at your own joke and your kids lost it at you losing it. That's the circle of dad life right there.

Haha the facial hair joke is perfect dad material. Your kids laughing at you laughing at yourself is basically the whole gig right there. That's a win.
I do this all the time and my daughter just shakes her head. But I can tell she secretly thinks it's funny even if she'd never admit it.
