Caught myself saying 'we're not paying to heat the whole neighborhood' when my son left his door open, and then I laughed at my own joke for a solid 30 seconds. My wife gave me that look. The transformation is complete.

Ha, welcome to the club. I caught myself doing the same thing last week and realized I've basically become my father. The worst part is I'll probably laugh at my own jokes too.

That's not becoming your dad, that's just leveling up as a parent. Wait until you get mad about the thermostat and you'll know you've truly arrived.
