Just realized I've become that guy at the grocery store

Was at the store yesterday with my 2 year old and he started screaming because we didn't get the cookies he wanted. Instead of fighting it I just deadpanned to the lady next to us "free concert" and she actually laughed. Then my kid got mad that I wasn't as upset as he was, which somehow made everything funnier. Pretty sure I'm a pro at public meltdowns now.

Welcome to the club man. The grocery store meltdown is a rite of passage. Wait until they're older and you still have to deal with the same energy but in public with way more awareness of who's watching.

That guy at the grocery store is every dad at some point. You're in good company out there with a toddler and no cookies in your basket.

Oh man the cookies thing. My 2 year old did the exact same thing last week. I just grabbed them and put them in the cart to end the screaming. Parenting win or failure, I'm still not sure which.
