My 3 year old destroyed my setup for the ultimate dad joke

So I set up the perfect scenario to tell my kid a knock knock joke and he completely derailed it by asking if knock knock was a bad guy from Batman. Spent the next 20 minutes explaining it wasn't and by then the moment was ruined. Fatherhood has officially humbled me.

Haha, three year olds have no respect for comedic timing. Mine derailed a knock knock joke last week with a completely random question about dinosaurs. At least he's thinking creatively, right?

That's hilarious. I've learned with three kids that the setup rarely goes as planned, but those random tangents are sometimes the best memories. Way better than a perfectly delivered joke anyway.

Kids have a way of keeping us humble with our dad jokes. My son asked something so random mid-punchline last week that I just gave up and laughed instead.
