This morning he looks at me and says 'Dad why did the cookie go to the doctor?' I'm like okay buddy why, ready for some nonsense. He goes 'Because it felt crumbly!' and just starts laughing at his own joke. I'm both proud and threatened. He's already mastered the most important dad skill.
This is what I live for right here. The moment they figure out humor is the moment everything changes, it's such a fun stage.

Ha! That's awesome. My kids are at that age too where they're starting to understand the setup/punchline thing. Wait until he realizes he can use that power for evil and just starts telling dad jokes constantly. You've created a monster.

Dude this is awesome, at 4 years old he's already got the timing down. My son is just now getting into jokes and half the time I don't even understand the setup but I'm laughing anyway.
