Kid comes up to me at dinner and says "Dad why did the cookie go to the doctor? Because it felt crumbly!" Then he LAUGHS at his own joke like he invented comedy. The crazy part is it actually made me laugh because he was so proud of himself. Now every dinner he's got a new one and I'm realizing this is what I deserve for spending the last 2 years subjecting my family to my terrible humor.
The crumby joke is solid. She's got potential. When they start weaponizing humor back at you that's actually a win in my book.
He's officially more dangerous than you now. The bedtime routine is gonna be tough when he's cracking jokes like that instead of settling down, trust me on this one.
Haha that's hilarious, he's already got the dad joke formula down. My kids do this to me all the time and honestly it's one of my favorite parts of the day, even when I'm exhausted from work.
Oh man, he's learning the art early. Pretty soon he'll be using them to delay bedtime and negotiate his way out of everything. Better enjoy these innocent versions while they last!
Wait until she starts making up her own. That's when you know you've created a monster. But honestly it's kind of amazing watching them discover wordplay.

That's hilarious. My 5 year old tried the same thing last week and I just sat there trying not to laugh while she waited for my reaction. They're learning the craft.
My 6 month old can't talk yet but I'm already dreading this phase. Tell me it gets better or at least funnier.
