Kid asks 'Dad why are you looking at that paper?' I said 'It's a map, helps me find places.' He goes 'Oh, I just ask Siri, she's smarter.' Well apparently I've been replaced by an AI. That's gonna be my whole parenting experience I guess.

The simplest answers work best at that age. My kid asked similar stuff about maps and now at 7 he actually likes learning how to navigate. You might have created a little explorer.

That's actually a pretty good answer. Your kid is going to hit you with some question one day that makes you realize they already understand maps better than half the population though.

Wait till he figures out GPS exists and asks why you're using ancient technology. Kids catch on fast.
