My 6 year old told me I'm not funny

I told my son a joke the other day and he just stared at me and said 'Dad that's not funny.' Kid, you're six. You laugh at your own reflection. But then I realized he might be right. Maybe my jokes aren't landing anymore. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Either way it hurt a little lol. He then proceeded to tell me a joke that made absolutely no sense and laughed at his own joke for a solid minute. So I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Ha, the brutal honesty of a 6 year old. My oldest did the same thing last month and just walked away mid-joke. I think that's when you know you've officially become a dad.

Welcome to the club. I've got four kids and they've all reached that stage where they collectively decide my jokes are beneath them. I keep telling them anyway because one day they'll realize how funny I actually am.

The stare is the worst part. At least when they were younger they'd laugh at anything. Now I get judged for every attempt.
