I said 'why' and he goes 'because whenever I want to tell you something, you disappear.' Absolutely got roasted by my 8 year old. I wasn't even doing anything, just in the bathroom for like 2 minutes. Kids are savage.
Ouch. Kids have a way of hitting you with the honest truth when you least expect it. That would stick with me.
Ha, that's brutal and hilarious. Your kid just gave you the ultimate dad roast. Sounds like he's telling you he needs more of your attention though, so maybe it's time to actually show up when he wants to talk.
Eight year olds are savage, man. But real talk, that's actually him saying he misses you or needs you around more. Might be worth taking that feedback and making some adjustments.
That one's rough because it's kind of true. I get it though - between work and kid stuff, I'm definitely not as available as I want to be. The guilt is real with that one.
