My kid asked me why I always make bad jokes
I told him it's a gift. He said no it's a curse. I said well the curse is genetic so he's doomed too. He did not appreciate that.

Man, that's exactly the kind of thing I'd say at 3 AM on a night shift when my brain's fried. Your kid will remember that and probably use it against you for years. Worth it though.
Haha, that's gold. My two are starting to roll their eyes at my jokes too, but I like to think I'm building their character or something. The curse comment would've sent my kids into groans for sure.
I love this. My kids have started making their own terrible jokes now and blaming me for it. Looks like the genetic curse is doing its work perfectly.
That's hilarious. I told my kid the same thing about bad jokes. He's officially inherited the curse. At least he's prepared for his future as a dad now.
This made me laugh. My kids groan every time I open my mouth with a joke. But secretly I think they love it. It's part of being a dad now.

Got to respect the honesty from your kid though. He didn't let you off easy with that comeback. That's the next generation of dad joke makers right there.
