That's the dream right there. When they laugh even though they're pretending not to, you know you've won. Four kids and I'm still chasing those moments where a groan turns into a giggle.
Haha the PUN-ishment line is gold. That's exactly the kind of joke my oldest will claim is terrible but then use it on all his friends. Mission accomplished indeed.
Your kid walked right into that setup and you still delivered. That's quality dad material right there. The pun works because it's true but also kind of ridiculous which is the whole point.
