I told him it's in my DNA. He said 'Dad, that's not how biology works.' I said 'I know, but it IS how dad works!' He groaned so hard I think he threw out his back. Mission accomplished.
Your kid's going to be telling those jokes in like 10 years, just watch. It's inevitable once they understand the assignment.
That's perfect. The groan is basically a dad joke trophy at that point. You're passing on the tradition whether he likes it or not.
Ha! That's gold. My daughter just started calling out my dad jokes before I even finish them. I think that's her way of saying she secretly loves them.
I got that same response last week when I told my son a joke about a seahorse. The eye roll was real but he laughed anyway. I'm pretty sure that's how we win as dads.
