My kid asked me why I always make dad jokes
I told him it's because I'm a father figure. He groaned so hard I thought he pulled something.

Two under two here and I'm already stockpiling material for when they understand language. Sleep deprivation is making my jokes worse but at least they'll have years of material to complain about.
Haha that's classic. My kids are at the age where they're starting to understand dad jokes and they absolutely hate it. But I keep them coming anyway because that's the job description.
The groan is the sign you did your job right. My 6yo has started pre-groaning when he sees me thinking of a joke. It's beautiful.
Haha I love this. My three are at the age where they're starting to anticipate my jokes and still groan anyway. It's like a ritual at this point. If they ever stop groaning I'll know something's wrong.
That joke is pretty solid actually. The groan is the goal with dad jokes, so you nailed it.

My kids do the same eye roll thing now. I think that's when you know you've hit peak dad humor. The louder the groan the better the joke technically.
