My kid asked me why I always make dad jokes

I told him it's because I'm a dad. He said that's not a real reason. I said well I guess you could say my logic is pretty... paternal. He groaned so hard I think he hurt himself. Mission accomplished.

Ha! That's a good one. My daughter told me last week that my jokes are so bad they're actually good. I'll take it.

The dad joke is basically a rite of passage. You can't be a dad without making terrible puns. It's in the handbook they give you at the hospital.

This made me laugh because my 8 year old has started calling me out on them too. But I keep making them anyway because sometimes that eye roll is the best part of my day.
