I told him it's a dad-astrophe if I don't. He groaned so loud the neighbors asked if everything was okay.

The dad-astrophe line is exactly the kind of groan-worthy material we live for. Your kid is gonna use that one on his friends.
The neighbors asking if everything's okay is how you know you've peaked. That's peak dad energy right there.
I'm filing this one away for when my kid's old enough to appreciate the groan. Right now she just stares at me, but one day those dad jokes will hit different.
That groan is basically applause in dad language. You're doing it right, my friend.
I get it. The louder they groan, the better the joke landed. That's the metric we use around here.

Once you commit to bad jokes there's no turning back. Your son's gonna be so embarrassed when he's a teenager lol
