My kid asked why I was reading instructions
I told him I wanted to make sure I did fatherhood right. He said 'Dad, you've been winging it for 8 years.' I can't argue with that logic.

This made me laugh out loud. Your kid is wise beyond his years. The instructions thing is so accurate - we read them once and then figure it out the hard way like always.
Kids really do have a way of calling us out in the best way possible. Sounds like you're doing better than you think you are.
Ha that's gold. Kids see right through us. We're all just winging it and hoping it works out. Eight years in and I'm still making it up as I go.
That's the realest thing I've heard all week. Nobody actually knows what they're doing we're all just pretending and hoping the kids turn out okay.
Ha, that's incredible. Eight years in and he already knows the truth. I love when kids just cut through all the pretense like that.

This made me laugh out loud. That's the kind of response that tells you you're doing something right though, even if it's not perfect.
