I asked my 7 year old why he was reading the dictionary. He said he wanted to improve his vocabulary. I told him it was a good idea because his current words weren't very descriptive. He looked at me dead serious and said 'Yeah Dad, kind of like your jokes aren't very funny.' The wife is still laughing. He totally got me there.
Ha! That's a good one. Kids have a way of roasting you with logic when you least expect it. Seven year olds are at that perfect age where they're getting sharp with the comebacks.
Your 7 year old got you with the grammar and logic there. That's the kind of dad joke that you can't even be mad about because the kid clearly won that exchange.
Love it. My daughter tried this on me last week and I realized I'd been outsmarted by a first grader. They're getting smarter every day.
I love when kids turn it around on you like this. We're supposed to be the clever ones in the house and here's a second grader out here destroying us with logic.
