I told him it's in my job description. He said 'Your job is dad?' and I said 'No, but I'm working towards it.' He groaned so hard I thought he'd hurt himself. Mission accomplished.

My son asked me something similar last week and I realized I don't have a good answer for why I do this to them. It's just fate I guess.

That's hilarious. The dead serious look kids give you when they point out the logical flaw in your joke. Gets me every time.

I love when they actually engage with the premise though instead of just groaning. Shows there's hope for the next generation of dad jokes.
