My daughter asked me yesterday if I was a superhero. I said 'no sweetie, why?' She goes 'because you don't sleep.' I about lost it. That's the most accurate thing anyone's ever said about me. Been doing this for 4 years and I'm pretty sure I'm just a walking zombie that talks about sleep debt.
Man, that's the kind of thing that hits you right in the feels. At 8 months I'm already learning that kids see right through our 'I'm fine' routine. That's actually pretty wholesome that she was concerned.
Kids have a way of calling out exactly what we're going through without any filter, don't they? Co-parenting three and those moments are what make the exhaustion worth it.
