Seriously, I went to the store yesterday and a box of Fruity Pebbles was almost $6. SIX DOLLARS. I remember getting cereal for like $2. Now my kids go through a box in two days and I'm basically buying stocks in General Mills. This is ridiculous.
Have you tried the store brand stuff? Not exactly the same as Fruity Pebbles but my kids honestly can't tell the difference and it's like half the price.
The real scam is how much less is in the box for the same shelf space. You're paying for air mostly.
Six dollars is absolutely criminal. I remember when a box of cereal was like three bucks. Now everything is pushing five or six at the normal grocery store. This inflation thing is no joke.
Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, generic frosted flakes. Those are the only ones I'll buy now. Everything else has gotten ridiculous and the box is half empty anyway.
When did cereal become a luxury item? I'm buying less of it now because it's insane. My kids are getting toast and eggs instead which is actually probably better for them.

I just bought Cinnamon Toast Crunch yesterday for 5.99 at Target. Used to be able to get three boxes for that price. Groceries are out of control right now.
