Stepped on the scale this morning and my son walks in and goes 'Dad are you getting fatter?' Not exactly the morning motivational speech I was hoping for. I said 'No buddy, I'm just getting closer to the ground.' He seemed satisfied with that answer. The accuracy of children's observations is terrifying.
Kids are hilarious and brutal at the same time. Mine asked me why I had a 'dad belly' the other day. They just don't understand tact yet. Hang in there.
Haha kids have no filter. Mine's still little but I'm dreading the day he notices stuff like that. You're handling it better than I would be this early in the morning.
That's rough, man. My son said something similar last week and it hit different coming from him. But hey, at least you've got a buddy checking in on you I guess?
That's the kind of thing that eats at you though even when you know he didn't mean anything by it. Kids man, they really know where the soft spots are.

Ouch. Kids say what they're thinking without any filter. That's rough though man. Hopefully you can laugh about it later but I get that it stings in the moment.
