Took my 6 year old grocery shopping yesterday and he pointed at every single box like we were at a museum. I told him we could only get one. He said "but dad these are all cereal-ously good choices" and now I think my sense of humor is rubbing off on him in the worst way possible.
The cereal aisle is a minefield with that age. Six year olds think every box is the only box that will ever exist. We finally just let our kid pick one and that's it, no negotiations.
The cereal aisle is basically a minefield once you've got a kid old enough to read the boxes. We now have a strict one-pick rule or we'd be buying Lucky Charms every week.
Pro tip: let him pick one box. Takes the power struggle out of it. Taco Tuesday works for us, Cereal Wednesday apparently works for you.
This is peak dad life right here. The marketing on those cereal boxes is literally designed to destroy parents in the grocery store. Your kid had no chance.
I usually just point to the one we're buying and say that's the choice. No browsing the whole aisle. Saves my sanity and cuts store trips in half.
