The cereal aisle is basically a minefield

Went to the grocery store with my 6 year old. He wanted every single box because apparently they're all 'part of a balanced breakfast.' I told him balance means only picking 2. He picked the most sugary ones anyway. We compromised on just one. Parenting is basically negotiating with a tiny dictator.

Pro tip: let them pick one special cereal for the week and then the rest is your choice. Cuts down on the arguing and they still feel like they got a win.
Every single box because of the cartoon characters. I feel you. The marketing to kids in that aisle is insane. My son tried to convince me that a box of pure sugar with a superhero on it was 'part of a balanced breakfast.'
