The dad joke curse is real
I used to make fun of my own dad for his terrible jokes. Now I'm sitting at breakfast saying stuff like 'Cereal? More like serious business!' and my kids are groaning while also kind of laughing. It's like the dad joke gene just activates when you become a father and there's nothing you can do to stop it. I'm turning into my father and I'm weirdly okay with it.
It's like a rite of passage you don't see coming. One day you're a normal person and the next you're laughing at your own jokes and nobody else is. My wife just shakes her head now.
Did you at least give your dad props for his jokes now that you get it? I plan to call mine and apologize for all the eye rolls.
