My daughter said she didn't want to go to school today. I said 'Well, I didn't want to get out of bed this morning but here we are.' My wife was NOT amused. She said I'm teaching her bad habits. I said that's literally the job description.

Oh man, that's a solid setup but also risky. The 'well, I didn't want to get out of bed either' response is dad gold but I can see how that backfires. Did your wife actually get mad or just give you that look?

Classic dad move. The line is funny but yeah, probably not the motivation-boosting comment you need before a school day. Still worth it though.

I laughed out loud at this. Definitely stolen for later. My wife has a sense of humor about my jokes most days but some definitely land different than others.
