My oldest is 11 and I swear it happened between Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday I was the funniest guy alive. Wednesday I embarrass him by existing in public. I walked into his classroom for volunteer day wearing my normal dad uniform (cargo shorts, dad shoes, polo shirt) and he looked at me like I'd shown up naked. My younger kids still think I'm hilarious. I'm cherishing it while it lasts because I know the expiration date is coming.

Man, I felt this in my soul. My 11 year old went from laughing at everything I say to rolling her eyes so hard I worry they'll get stuck. The switch flipped literally overnight for us too.

11 is such a weird age. One of my older ones went through the exact same thing around that time. Hang in there, it does get a little better when they realize you're actually not that bad.

This transition is REAL. I swear there's like a biological switch that flips. My 11 year old used to think everything I said was hilarious. Now if I laugh at my own jokes he acts like I've committed a crime.

Tuesday to Wednesday is generous. For my oldest it was literally overnight. Sunday I made her laugh at breakfast, Monday she wouldn't even sit near me at dinner. The eye roll game is strong at 11.
