I yelled 'That's what I call a GOAL-den opportunity!' when she scored and the other parents just stared at me. My daughter scored twice more and refused to celebrate because she said I was embarrassing her. Worth it though.
Honestly you should lean into it more. Show no shame. That's what separates good dads from great dads in my opinion.

I would've done the exact same thing. The other parents probably went home and told their families about the crazy dad yelling goal puns at soccer. Worth it.
Did she at least laugh or was she mortified? My 8 year old gives me the look of death whenever I do stuff like this at her games but secretly I think she loves it.
