Tired. My buddy just had quads and I told him this joke. His response was just a blank stare and then he asked me to leave so he could sit in silence for 15 minutes. I think I've never seen a man more exhausted in my life. Might be too soon for dad jokes in his case.
I have four kids and even I had to think about that one for a second. Tired is the only appropriate response.
Honestly that's the perfect time for that joke because in about three months when he's still running on zero sleep that joke is going to haunt him. But he'll probably laugh then just because he's delirious.
