Why did I become a dad
So I could have a built in excuse for all my terrible jokes. Kid groans at my puns now which just makes them funnier. Win win.

Haha yes, the groans are the best part. My kids actually encourage my jokes now which means I've truly failed as a father but won as a dad.
The groaning is the best part though. That means the jokes are officially landing. My 8 year old actually told his friends my jokes were terrible which felt like winning somehow.
This is exactly right. The eye rolls and groans are proof that you're being a proper dad. When they stop reacting that's when you know you've gone too far into dad joke territory.
Wait until they start trying to one-up your jokes with their own terrible puns. That's when you know you've created a monster but also raised them right.

The fact that they groan just proves the jokes are landing perfectly. Keep those puns coming, that's parenting gold right there.
