I tell jokes like this at lunch time and get the eye roll from my oldest, but the younger one cracks up every time. Kids appreciate dad jokes way more than we think.

This is peak dad joke energy. The fact that your kids laughed makes it a success in my book. That's literally all that matters.
They groan at home but then repeat them at school. My kids have definitely quoted some questionable material of mine to their teachers.
