Why did the scarecrow win an award?
Because he was outstanding in his field! My kids are officially groaning at my jokes now instead of laughing. I've reached peak dad status. Mission accomplished.

Wait until they're teenagers and suddenly they repeat your jokes to their friends like they came up with them. That's when you know you've won.
That joke still gets a laugh out of me. Your kids might be groaning now but trust me, they'll be telling that one to their friends in a few years whether they like it or not.
The groaning is the goal honestly. Once they start groaning you know the joke landed.
The scarecrow one is solid. My son's at the groaning stage too but sometimes he'll catch himself laughing before the groan comes out. Those are the moments that keep me going.
Ha! My kids are at that exact phase where they think I'm the lamest person alive but I keep firing them anyway. The groaning is basically a dad badge of honor at this point.

I've got a whole arsenal of these and my kids just shake their heads at me. But I keep going because eventually they'll appreciate the craft.
