Tell my son bedtime is 8pm. At 8:15 he's SHOCKED we're actually going to bed. Like the time limit was just a suggestion. Then I remember I do the same thing when my wife says we have to leave in 10 minutes. Guess he learned from the best
One more minute might as well be one more day in kid time. I've given up trying to make sense of it and just start the shutdown sequence 20 minutes early now.
We started setting a timer so they can SEE the time going down and somehow they still act betrayed when it goes off. They're just wired different.
This is my entire existence at 8pm on weeknights. The audacity they have to act wronged.
They genuinely believe if they don't acknowledge the time, it doesn't exist. Physics doesn't apply when you're under ten apparently.
Because their internal clock operates in a different dimension. I swear my kids think a minute is measured in breaths, not seconds.
