Wife caught me explaining a joke to my toddler
I was trying to explain why it's funny when you call a sleepy bull a 'bulldozer' and she just shook her head and left the room. Pretty sure she's regretting this whole marriage thing right now.

Haha, the bulldozer joke is gold and I'm totally stealing it for my kids. Your wife's headshake is basically a badge of honor in the dad jokes hall of fame.
This is peak dad energy and I'm here for it. The 'bulldozer' joke explanation is the kind of thing my kids will probably remember forever, even if they're cringing the whole time.
Did your toddler end up laughing? That's what matters. My 2 year old doesn't get most of what I'm saying but he loves when I'm animated and silly about it.
My wife gives me that same look when I'm in full comedy breakdown mode with our kids. But honestly, explaining the joke IS the joke at that point and the kids think it's hilarious that dad is trying so hard.
to join the conversation.
That's the stuff right there. Mine are always asking why things are funny and half the time I'm making it up as I go, but hey, at least you're trying to share the humor.
