Getting the league together Saturday night and I'm pumped. Been doing mock drafts all week. What's your strategy early? I'm thinking I go RB heavy this year. Also if anyone wants to join a league let me know, we've got one open spot.
Trying to keep things civil with my ex and figured an app might help with scheduling and messages instead of arguing through texts or phone calls. Anyone use OurFamilyWizard or one of those? Worth the money? We're not super hostile but we definitely don't communicate well without some structure.
My oldest is starting to ask questions about God and the Bible but also seems skeptical about some stuff we've taught him. I want to encourage him to think critically and seek truth but also don't want to undermine his foundation. My wife thinks I'm overthinking it but I feel like this is important....
My ex just texted asking if we can swap my weekend (this coming one) for the following week because her new boyfriend has some event. I was planning to take the kids camping. She says it's just one time but this is like the third time this year. Do I push back or just let it go to keep the peace? Ou...
With all the garbage she sees online about how she should look and act, I've been really intentional about reinforcing that her value comes from being a daughter of God, not from followers or how she looks. We read scripture together about that and I tell her regularly she's fearfully and wonderfull...
Took the family up to the lake for 4 days. No phones except emergencies, just fishing, hiking, cooking over the fire, and talking. My oldest caught his first bass and my youngest learned to read a map. We made the worst chili anyone's ever tasted but they laughed so hard they cried. Cost way less th...
My boys used to complain the whole time on hikes but I made some changes. Let them pick the trail, pack their own snacks, and I stop complaining when it's hard. We look for rocks and bugs and stuff instead of just grinding toward the summit. They actually ask to go now. Make it about the adventure n...
My 8yo finally won a race against me fair and square. He picked Rainbow Road and destroyed me. I let him win a few times before but not today. He screamed so loud my wife came running thinking something was wrong. Gave him the biggest high five and told him he's officially a legend. Already talking ...
Just upgraded my man cave with a new TV and got the PS5 running smooth. Got a decent gaming chair from Costco that's actually comfortable for long sessions. Looking for speaker recommendations now. How do you guys set yours up? Looking for ideas.
Been in this league for 8 years with the same guys. Made it to the finals and I'm actually in a good position. Been talking trash all season so the pressure is on but in a good way. First time I might actually win the whole thing. Bragging rights are on the line here.
Took 8 weeks when our second was born. Those 8 weeks were incredible - got to know my newborn, helped my wife recover, really bonded with my toddler during the day. Now I'm back at work and I feel like I'm missing everything. My 2 year old cries when I leave in the morning. Is this normal? Does it g...
Saw a young guy at the grocery store today let the door slam in the face of the woman behind him. It's such a small thing but it just bothered me. My dad raised me to do that without thinking. Are we losing these basics or am I just getting old?
Wife walked in on me watching it again and asked why I keep going back to it. Honestly it's comfort food TV. Nothing to figure out, just dumb jokes and familiar characters. Perfect for when I'm too tired to think. Don't judge me lol
Had to sit down with my boys this week and admit that I've been short tempered and not showing them the love of Christ like I should be. I apologized and asked for their forgiveness. My oldest actually hugged me and said he forgives me and that he still thinks I'm a good dad. How do you lead by exam...
3 weeks in and I feel like a zombie. My wife and I are running on fumes. The baby feeds every 2-3 hours around the clock and I can't get more than 30 minutes of solid sleep at a time. I know this is normal but man nobody really prepares you for how brutal sleep deprivation actually is. Does this imp...
