After 6 months of collecting tools and organizing, my garage is finally set up the way I want it. Got my workbench, tool wall, got a decent miter saw and drill press. Kids arent allowed in there unsupervised yet but man it feels good to have my own space. Taking my first real project next month, bui...
I've been getting maybe 2-3 hours a week on my PS5 after 9pm when everyone's down. Playing through the new Spider-Man game real slow. Wife doesn't mind as long as I'm not staying up til midnight. Feels like my last connection to being just myself and not just Dad.
Had a health scare last year that made me rethink everything. I was the guy grinding 60 hours a week, missing recitals and soccer games, always stressed about work. Ended up having a panic attack at the office and that was my wake up call. Cut back my hours, started saying no to stuff that didn't ma...
My shy little girl who wouldn't even speak in front of the class last year just landed the lead role in their spring musical. She's going to be Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. I'm honestly tearing up thinking about how far she's come. Been dealing with some confidence issues and this is huge for her. O...
Taking my 2 year old and 5 year old camping for the first time next month. Got a family tent and sleeping bags but not sure what else I'm missing. Should I bring the full stroller or just a carrier? What about bathroom stuff at a campground with little kids? Also planning to do some easy hiking trai...
So my ex has been consistently 20-30 minutes late to pickups for the last month. She's not even apologizing about it anymore, just acts like it's normal. I had plans with my kids today and had to reschedule because she showed up at 4:15 instead of 3:45. How do I handle this without getting the court...
Been having a rough few months at work and honestly my faith has been shaky. My 8 year old asked me to pray with him before bed last night and I just felt like such a hypocrite. How do you guys lead by example when you're not exactly walking the walk? I don't want my kids thinking their dad has all ...
Why didn't anyone tell me how fast babies can poop? We got home from the hospital yesterday and I opened the diaper during change number 3 and it was just everywhere. On the changing table, on my shirt, in my hair somehow. My wife tried not to laugh but failed miserably. Did I do something wrong or ...
My buddy traded me his 3rd round pick for my kicker last week and I'm still getting roasted in the group chat. Pretty sure he was drunk. The commish won't reverse it though because technically it's allowed. I'm 2 and 5 now so whatever at this point.
Before kids I'd sleep till 10am on weekends, stay out till midnight, buy whatever I wanted. Now I'm up at 6, my idea of a wild night is staying up past 9pm, and I just spent 45 minutes choosing between two types of diapers. What I miss: uninterrupted showers, conversations about things other than po...
Took him to the parking lot this morning and after about 20 minutes of wobbling he just... got it. I let go and he pedaled like 30 feet before stopping. The look on his face was pure gold. He's been asking to try all week and I kept putting it off. So glad we did this today. Best $80 I spent on that...
Still in shock. My company just greenlit 4 months and I can work from home for the first 8 weeks after. Wife is due in 6 weeks and honestly I was prepared to fight for this or just take unpaid time. Don't know if I'd call myself lucky exactly but grateful for sure. Anyone else taken an extended pate...
Have a 7 year old and a 5 year old. During the week they get maybe 45 minutes of screen time after homework and dinner. Weekends are a little more flexible but I'm still trying to keep it under 2 hours a day. My wife thinks I'm too strict but I'm seeing other kids totally glued to tablets and I don'...
My daughter is 3 weeks old and honestly I love her but right now she just looks at me like I'm a warm potato. My wife keeps saying she smiled but I think it's gas. When does the actual bonding start happening where they look at you and you know they know who you are? I want her to recognize me as he...
Got a beautiful bird from the butcher and want to do it right on the Weber. I've done steaks and burgers a million times but never a whole chicken. Thinking indirect heat, maybe 375 degrees for like an hour and a half? Should I spatchcock it or just do it whole? Trying to impress the family Sunday d...
