My daughter needs new cleats for spring season and everything decent is over $120. She'll grow out of them in like 6 months. This is absolute madness. I found some at Dick's for $85 but the reviews say they fall apart. Paying for quality but they won't fit in half a year anyway. Makes no sense. Wher...
Trying to figure out where my time is actually going. I feel like I work 8 hours, spend maybe 3-4 with the kids if they don't have activities, and then I'm too tired for anything else. Started logging my time last week with Toggl and it's kinda eye-opening. Curious if other people use this or if th...
Mine won't stop doing the David Attenborough voice for EVERYTHING. 'And here we observe father in his natural habitat, attempting to make breakfast without burning it.' It's hilarious but also I can never have privacy again
Been thinking about grabbing one of these for my 2-month-old. The heart rate monitoring is appealing but also... do I really need to be alerted at 3am about oxygen levels? Might just stress me out more. Anyone actually use this and find it helpful or is it just anxiety feeding?
His volcano vinegar/baking soda thing beat out like 30 other projects. I know, I know - super basic experiment, but watching him present it with confidence made me tear up a little ngl. He wanted to do it, he helped mix everything, and when it went off during judging he just beamed. These moments hi...
Just finished Raising Godly Tomatoes by Larry Christenson and wanted to throw it out there. It's about being intentional about discipleship with your sons. Made me think differently about what I'm actually modeling for my boys just by how I treat my wife and handle conflict. Worth the read if you're...
Downloaded it on a recommendation from my therapist specifically for the meditation stuff. I'm not usually one of those guys but I've been doing 10 mins before bed and it's genuinely helped my sleep. The free version has tons of content. Used it 23 days in a row now (the streak thing is weirdly moti...
Been going to Dr. Morrison on Wednesdays at 3pm. First two sessions I almost cancelled both times because of work stuff or just not feeling like it, but I forced myself to go anyway. Yesterday was my third session and ngl it's starting to feel less awkward. We talked about why I always feel like I'm...
I told him I was going to make his vegetables disappear. Turns out he just threw them under the table. Mission accomplished? Either way, he fell for it and that's what matters.
Took me three weekends because I kept running into issues with the stud finder and then realized I needed better cable management but man it's done. Got a used 55 inch from Facebook marketplace for 250 bucks and ran everything through the walls. Now I can actually watch the games while I'm working o...
Went full Pinterest dad mode in January. Spent Sunday prepping chicken, rice, veggies in containers. Worked great for like 2-3 weeks then I got lazy. Now I have a drawer full of glass containers as a reminder of my failures. Anyone actually maintain a meal prep routine or is it just not realistic wi...
Just finished my 8 weeks with my twins (boy/girl, 2 months old now) and I'm back in the office part-time starting tomorrow. Not gonna lie, I'm excited to have adult conversations and drink coffee without someone needing something from me every 45 seconds. But also my wife has been home alone with bo...
I've been looking at those backyard zipline kits (Slackline Industries or similar) and my kids are BEGGING for one. We've got the property for it—about 70 feet of clearance between two trees. Kids are 9 and 12, pretty coordinated, not reckless. Wife thinks it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I think ...
Took the boys out to the lake early this morning before anyone else was around. My oldest caught a 4 pound largemouth on his first cast. Not joking. First cast of the day. He was SO pumped and literally shaking. Those are the moments you fish for honestly. Didn't catch anything else all morning but ...
Got two kids - 4 and 8. During the pandemic we got pretty relaxed about screens and now honestly we're not sure how to dial it back. They're not glued to devices or anything but like... 2 hours on a Saturday feels normal to us now when I'm pretty sure that's not ideal. Other parents - what does a ty...
